Perth (Year 2012) Day 1: Catalano's Cafe @ Victoria Park

(Source: from internet)
I did not take a photo of the restaurant, sharing this to show you how the restaurant looks like.

Friends brought us to this restaurant for dinner on our first night. Catalano's Cafe is an Italian restaurant. Almost full house when we were there. Our friends made the order. So, our duty is to sit and wait for food. :)

Generous portion of big prawns

To me, everything was nice! Haha...Probably I'm hungry. You know, you'll easily get hungry in cold weather. LOL.

Perth (Year 2012) Day 1: Kailis' Fish Market Cafe @ Fremantle

Queue to make your order at the counter and this thingy will beep you when your food is ready.

We ordered this seafood platter to share among 4 of us. This platter is truly big and a lot of chips were given. Thumbs up for this!

Perth (Year 2012) - Day 1: Fremantle

We reached Perth International Airport very early in the morning. It's very very cold outside even it's not windy. Our friend pick us up and we head to Hungry Jack's for an early breakfast since there's no other shops opening at that time.

Hungry Jack's is a franchise of Burger King operated in Australia. Nothing special, they are selling the similar items like other fast food restaurants.

Then we headed to our friends' house to have a rest before we depart to Fremantle, our first destination of our trip.

Look at this cute little guy, its name is Muffin, belongs to our friend. So hyper-active and friendly.

Fremantle is a city in Western Australia, located at the mouth of the Swan River. It's a distance away from the Perth City. Some of the must visit in Fremantle include Fishing Boat Harbour, Fremantle Markets, Fremantle Prison, Maritime Museum and The Round House.

We had a walk at the beach before we visit the attractions of Fremantle. Such a beautiful beach! Blue sky, blue sea... I love it!

Let me tell you something about the weather here. It is very very cold in the morning but when the sun rise and near to noon, it's going to be hot, and again when it comes to evening, the weather turns cold again. This is Spring in Perth.

We had a morning tea after a walk at the beach. Our friends just simply pick one cafe.

Here's the main entrance of the Fremantle market. Oh, I love this market. It is so big and everything were arranged neatly at every stall. You can buy some snacks to eat too while "shopping" in the market.

This is the entrance of the Fremantle's Prison. Nothing much to show you. You can see the layout of the prison and there's a mini museum displaying the old age items from the prison.

This was taken at The Round House.  From here you can have a nice sea view.

The end of the tour for Day 1. :)

Coliseum Cafe & Grill Room @ Jaya 33

"Established in 1921, Coliseum Cafe & Grill Room is one of the oldest in the country and is a walk down memory lane for KL in the early 1920s. Over ninety years old and it's one of the best examples of the city's colonial heritage.

The furniture and decorative memorabilia creates a wonderful nostalgic feeling. The old furniture and decorations are preserved from when it was first opened in the 1920s when at that time, the Coliseum was the finest cafe & grill room in Malaysia.

Banana & Chocolate Spring Rolls with Vanilla Ice Cream(RM 11.90)
If you asked me if this is nice, I would say it's quite messy eating this. I don't think it's a good combination.

Fried Ice Cream (RM 7.90)
The fried ice cream comes as a ball. When you cut it, you will be able to see the vanilla ice cream. :) The "ball" itself is sweet, wonder what is it made of. Is it Gula Melaka?

Should come back again to try their sizzling steak. I've seen people ordering and it smells so nice.

The Lazy Cook: D.I.Y. Nissin Instant Noodle

Pao Xiang Bak Kut Teh @ One Utama

The Lazy Cook: D.I.Y. Penang White Curry Noodle

Steam N Grill Burger @ SetiaWalk

Make your order at the counter. Here, you can choose your preferred flavor for the bun - Original, Charcoal, Spinach and Whole meal.

They are selling all kind of fruit flavoured ice-creams too!

All burger sets come with soft drinks and fries. We had their top recommended burgers which is the Serunding Beef Burger set (RM 17.00) and Otak-Otak Burger set (RM 16.00).

Serunding Beef Burger with Spinach flavored bun.

Otak-Otak Burger with whole meal bun. Very thick piece of Otak-Otak is given.

Their food is not bad. The only problem they had is the location. They will be able to catch the crowd if they are located at the Ground floor. It was so quiet during dinner time when we visited. And, I've seen the staff giving out leaflet at the Ground floor (where the crowds are hanging around) to create awareness.

Actually, their signboard can be easily seen at the main road, wondering why it doesn't helps to bring at least small crowd.

Coconut House @ Jaya One

According to all information from bloggers, Coconut House which originated from Malacca has been closed down many times and finally the owner re-opened it here at Jaya One. I think they are running not bad as I see big crowd during lunch time.

If I'm not mistaken, they had 3 pages of set lunch to select. @@ I've been spending a long time to look through their menu.

In the end, we decided to go for pasta. One set lunch (Ice Honey Lemon and Lemon and Rosemary Chicken Fettuccine), one Coconut Blended and one Vongole.

Set Lunch: Lemon and Rosemary Chicken Fettuccine + Ice Honey Lemon (RM 13.90)
They made nice honey lemon. The pasta is nice but still far from perfect, it's a little bit too oily. The chicken is very tender and juicy but to me, it's a bit too salty.

Coconut Blended (RM 9.90)
Cute isn't it? Nothing special inside this cute coconut mug, it's only blended coconut.

Vongole (RM 21.90)
Quite spicy and the clams were all so small.

Well, we didn't feel satisfied with this meal. Probably we should try their pizza which is baked using wood-fire.
